Literature Text

The next chapter is honestly taking too long and I listened to this song for the first time in a while so I thought I'll drop some MAJOR (?) spoilers for somewhere in the next few chapters (not necessarily chapter 7 ehehe...he)

So please I'm legit begging you guys lmao please enjoy this and forgive me for the unnecessary amount of procrastinating and time wasting I've done just to put this out...
ahh it feels so cliche *sobbing pitifully*

                                                                                     Part 6 [here]

                                                                                           ~*

"Give me back my book!"
"Wrestle me for it."
"I'm not playing with you, give it back before I get angrier. I don't have time for this!"

You grabbed the book out of his hand and stalked away from him back to the tree you were studying under, unaware of the dark clouds beginning to gather overhead.
You ignored Levi as he walked back to where you were. After a few moments, he realised that you were genuinely upset about something, but it honestly couldn't just be him taking your book...could it?

"Stop being a baby, Prin-"
"Use my name, Levi!"

He was taken aback. It had been weeks, months even since he'd been using his pet name for you and you hadn't had an issue with it. Where was this sudden change of heart from?
Actually, a better question was, what was the real issue that you was agitating you so much?

"Okay (Name)," the sound of the syllables in his own voice was foreign but not unpleasant to his ears, "why don't you calm down and we can talk about...whatever the fuck it is that you're upset about?"

You were quiet for a long while, simply glaring at him. He noticed your fists clenched at your sides, shaking slightly and subconsciously, he reached out to wrap his lankier fingers around them but you flinched away from his touch much more violently than was necessary in his opinion.

"Listen-"
"Fuck you."

His eyebrows shot up on his forehead.
"Wow, look who's been learning some big girl words."

You didn't seem to realise that it had began to rain slightly, the large water droplets darkening the spots where they landed on your clothes and making the fabric stick to your skin.

"I knew you were bad news but I still went along with it."
"Unsurprisingly."
"But I'm honestly even more upset at myself for lowering my standards so far that I felt something for you!"

Levi wasn't sure why, but that hurt him a lot more than many other things had the power to.

"(Name)-"
"That's right. That's my name. Not 'Princess' or 'Baby girl' or whatever else you use on me. But it's not like that matters anymore because you will never speak to me again or-"

You knew you shouldn't be surprised when Levi was suddenly in your face but you still jumped at his fast movements.
"Listen the fuck up."

The rain started to come down harder through the branches of the tree.

"What is this about, huh? What the fuck are you going on about. Talk to me calmly like the fucking adult I thought you were."
"I don't want to waste anymore time on this, Levi. It's not like I haven't talked to you about it before...you know what, screw you Levi!"
"Only if you beg for forgiveness for this bratty display."

You ground your teeth as you tried to keep your features neutral and unaffected by his words though you still knew that his highly perceptive senses picked up on your more tense posture.
You took a step back to reclaim control over the situation and felt a loss of heat around your wrists from where he had managed to sneakily hold on to and rub soothingly.

Your back ghosted along the rough edge of the tree's trunk, not quite leaning on it.
His wet hair and clothes lay flat against his body because of the moisture while his intense eyes trained to your face.
Searching.
Watching.
Waiting.
The cold from the rain began to register and you were thankful for the distraction

"Are we going to talk about this?"

You didn't reply and simply looked down at your bag. You grabbed it roughly and stood up straight.

"If you can't see, that's not my fault. You're just as I thought you were in the beginning."
"I guess you are too."
"...Good. So it shouldn't be too difficult to go back to when we didn't acknowledge each other's existences."

He didn't say anything as you fumbled with your bag to get an umbrella out.
It must have been a hilarious sight, you, already drenched, rummaging in your bag for an umbrella, but he was quiet as he observed you.

With nothing further to say, you turned and left, using the longer route home just so you wouldn't have to pass him on your way out of the park.

Lightning streaked across the sky with thunder clapping loudly after it.
